On this show we are exploring how to make the ordinary extraordinary and the importance of connection with all that is.
It was an emotional week returning to famous places with my now adult son, making new memories and discovering our shared interests. Photography, he has a good eye for a picture and loves people watching. Both are about creating stories and seeing the worlds from a place of wonder.
The Ordinary Become Extraordinary at Ordination
The focus of the week was my wife’s ordination as an interfaith minister. She is now the Reverend Cheryl Harvey a titles that has weight and opens doors for good conversations. It has been a two year journey of soul searching and revelation.
It was about connection interconnection and the infinite possibility. In this show we explore what all means and how you might see the ordinary and extraordinary?

Janice Clyne : The Fermentation & Diet
Wednesday Jul 19, 2023
Wednesday Jul 19, 2023
As we take a few weeks out, I thought to re-share this episode from 2020 with Janice Clyne.
Diet and food are always popular.
This week I am talking to Janice Clyne, The Fermentation Specialist.
We can all relate to food; it is an emotive subject and stirs memories, both good and some times not so good. Who remembers dreadful dinner dates or childhood associations? I have a horror story around sprouts that stopped me eating them for years, but for the most part, some of my best memories with friends, lovers or family are related to food and drink.
Sharing A Passion
I am a foodie; cooking and sharing food is my thing. Food is never far from my mind, I know what I will be cooking on most days and I love to experiment. So when I first met Janice Clyne, it was with some excitement. Janice is a fermented food specialist. While most of us know our fermented drinks and or fermented flour (bread) there is a whole world of fermentation that is both fun and offers enormous benefit to our health.
I first came across Janice through the Change Your World Everyday facebook group. In Facebook, group engagement is often variable, but this week Janice had the Change Your World’ers sharing photos of food and exploring new possibilities. It was dynamic, and I was hooked. I could see a whole new area of taste and flavour possibilities opening before me.

Shortcast : Healthy Wanting
Sunday Jul 16, 2023
Sunday Jul 16, 2023
Healthy wanting, is it possible to be wanting something in such a way that it drives you forward towards success? For many wanting is about filling a void that cannot be filled from the outside.
On this podcast we discover the problem with over wanted culture. It is growth for the sake of growth. How could we look at the driver of progress in a more positive way so it’s connected with who we are?
Society and business has turned into desires for products in the search for ever greater profit. It becomes growth for the sake of growth. Our politicians and media promise unlimited growth as a means of prosperity for all.
But it can put us on the treadmill. There have been more than enough podcast guests on the growth treadmill looking for more and more and finding themselves burned out in the process.
What if it was possible to reconnect yourself with your values and build your wants and desires from there?
Our conversation is about using your value systems accordingly, and using it in a healthy way to of fuel your desires.

Moira Ní Ghallachóir : Global Impact
Wednesday Jul 12, 2023
Wednesday Jul 12, 2023
We are taking an editing break for the rest of July while we recharge, plot, and plan our future world domination. So I thought to share with you one of my favourite conversations from last year. With Moira Ní Ghallachóir a story of home coming and making a huge difference.
Talk about global impact. My guest on the show creates stories with her words and has captivated audiences worldwide with her powerful presentations.
But how that all began is one of those stories of the unexpected.
What does a girl do when some money arrives out of the blue just before her birthday? For my guest, that would normally have meant a party. But this year was different, it felt like there was a reason for this money to arrive.
Moira Ní Ghallachóir was born in Donegal but left to explore the world. She was living the London Life as a youth worker. From her Instagram feed, she was having a ball. But in reality, it was draining her soul, and there was a desire for something more.
When the money arrived with a birthday coming up, she saw it as a gift and packed a small bag, her journal and took the Eurostar to Paris.
Sitting in a cafe, with coffee, croissant and journal, mulling over her future – the phone rings. On the screen comes up the word ‘Home’. That is the moment that changed Moira’s life. It was the signal to go home to Ireland.
On returning to Donegal she saw the place with new eyes and wanted to share it. She told the story and became a one-woman tourist development agency.
Our conversation is about her journey from uninspired Youth Worker to Irish Tourism to Business Mentor and International Speaker. And as she explains, success is reflected in the transformative experiences.

Shortcast : Living in the Story
Sunday Jul 09, 2023
Sunday Jul 09, 2023
We are all living in the story; it is what we do. I talk a lot about the stories and narratives that make up our lives. I’ve realised this is about living in the story of the outcome.
On this show, we explore how our storytelling abilities can lead us to our goals or take us to that place of despair. We have to manage our storytelling to get what we want.
Most of the time, our actions at any moment are relative to the outcome we hold as a vision. But we are not conscious that we are doing it.
Here is me Living in the story
I love to cook for myself, my family, and my friends. When I begin the meal plan, I consider what the other people eating will enjoy and how they might react to the presentation of that food. I imagine them enjoying it.
Last Monday I bought a new pair of running shoes, they were a gift for my birthday and are possibly the most expensive shoes I have ever bought. As I tested them in the shop, I imagined how it would feel to run a race, going fast and long while wearing these shoes.
I got to test them on Saturday at the Forres Highland Games 10K, and they did not feel how I imagined they would. They did live up to my expectation.
That is the point we are always living in the outcome of the story we have created. Now that ability to tell ourselves a story and believe it is a powerful tool for getting the life we want. As long as it is well managed.
Focus on the bad stuff, which can also be a heavyweight in delivering the life we do not want because replaying and believing a lousy story will not lift the heart or fill the soul with joy.
Join me on the show and discover how you might use your stories to get what you want.

Osbert Lancaster : Leadership and sustainability
Thursday Jul 06, 2023
Thursday Jul 06, 2023
Leadership and sustainability, when change is on the menu, it requires leaders who are ready to create the vision and make the difficult decisions required to get there.
The world is constantly changing, but as someone now in his 60s, I have never seen this pace of change. Change is coming at us in almost every direction, and we must all step up to face it.
Leadership on all levels is the answer.
Part 1 of Leadership and Sustainability
Our guest on the show is an expert in leadership and sustainability. Osbert Lancaster has been in the industry even before the word sustainability appeared in the business dictionary.
Most of his early consultancy conversations involved a lot of explanations.
Our conversation explores his journey towards his chosen career. It begins with an unusual childhood, as much of his early life was spent travelling with his parents. They were social anthropologists living in various locations around the middle east. He was not aware at the time, but the experience gave him a window into a unique way of life.
Economic Development is a Sticking Plaster
When he was too old to travel, he did his time in a private boarding school as you do when your parents travel, and ultimately went on to university to study agriculture.
After twists and turns, he found himself in In economic development. It was while working in Poland in the 1980s that he realised economic development was about putting a sticking plaster on the failures of society and creating business opportunities out to other people’s misery.
That realisation led Osbert to explore the idea of sustainability and sustainable development and he has never looked back.
Time Stamps
21:00 Passion: How can we take action
22.30 success: feeling he was making a difference and what it takes to do that.
25:00 Thoughts on Sustainability, Politics and Leadership
28.46 Contribution: Leadership for sustainability podcast
31.45 Avoiding burn out
34:00 Meaning: Connection and belonging
41:00 Leadership and sustainability
I found time to make some time stamp notes let me know if they are useful.
The next part of my conversation will be available shortly make sure you’re following This podcast see notification when it arrives.
Part 1 of our conversation explores Osbert’s life and our normal questions.
Part 2 takes an in-depth look at leadership and how that fits in to the sustainability narrative.

Shortcast : Transitions and Assimilation
Sunday Jul 02, 2023
Sunday Jul 02, 2023
Let’s talk about transitions and assimilation, that is the integration of all that we are and bringing it to the world as a contribution.
In the podcast we are looking at transition and assimilation as part of our right of passage. The show is about how the move from 50s in to my 60s has been more than a birthday.
We return briefly to my ultra marathon experience and what I have leant from that journey.
I can do hard things, and the pain passes and there is much more
There is also the ritual I used to pass from 59 to 60 years old. How I ran thought the time of my birth 60 years back.
A week of Transitions and Assimilation
In truth I have been preparing for this turning 60 as a transition. I’ve been talking about it for a while in my podcast and in someone my posts. Some of that conversation is ongoing, as my wife is currently in training to become an interfaith minister. Our conversations often revolve around transitions and connecting with all that is that’s probably led me to this place.
In the first world, we have lost touch with what it means to pass from one stage to the next. To honour and celebrate that transition. In the modern world we have lost touch with so much that makes living life expansive.
Most people see their success or contribution to the world as part of their career. There is so much focus on this idea that the career is where you shine.
Ultimately this is about learning to shine all of the time. It is about feeling confident in your skin and body. And seeing that your strengths and weaknesses are an equal part of who you are
There are some things where I am crap. I’ve never been particularly organised, I am dyslexic on many levels and have a terrible memory for names. There are more…
But I own those things. I don’t let my dyslexia stop me writing or publishing on social media. If there are errors and things that are wrong in something and someone doesn’t like it well that’s their problem not mine. And that is OK. That is not to say those errors don’t hurt becasue they do.
How Does My Journey Help You?
Remember as I say this all the time it’s your story. It has to be written, we have to create our own story. Mine is about the podcast. It is about the expansion of me and the expansion of people around me, it’s about how do we live a good life. What are the tools required for that. How can I help people find those tools and move forward. This is what it’s about for me, that is the exciting part of who I am and where I am at this time.
I will embrace the fear and keep looking to expand through it.
What would be a right of passage for you at your age and stage?
I have said before, “The Prize” is on the other side.
So I urge you to seek out an enduring adventure and push against something that offers resistance. Something that makes you grow and feels like an achievement, it does not need to be a full-on physical challenge.
I am biased, as I think something enduringly physical is hard to beat.
But there are other options. My wife for example is physically challenged for her the challenge is about writing and making it public.
I believe she is very good check out the website https://simplibee.uk/ it is beautful.

Shortcast : Choose Your Challenge
Sunday Jun 25, 2023
Sunday Jun 25, 2023
Do you choose your challenge or let life throw them at you? The point is life throws things at us, it’s not meant to be a journey a unicorns and roses there are meant to be ups and downs a life of colour.
This Saturday, at 11 am, I started running in a 100-mile team race, it took us 18 hours I and I ran 28 miles with a few big hills. I thought it would be great, the truth was mixed but still great.
On this show we are looking at how the media is driving the message of fear and how you can build your resilience to rise above it all. Because there is a certain power in taking charge and choosing the challenge.
We had 2 four-person teams and our job was to run 100 miles over a maximum of 24 hours, Running in pairs one from each team, it was about pacing each other and navigation. Th course was mixed terrain and easy to get lost.
I have to say it was brutal I covered 28 miles over the 18 hours it took to complete the course, I got home at 5.30 am this morning made a bacon roll and went to bed.
I have been a zombie all day and it is now late afternoon and I wanted to get this podcast out my six which may not happen.
What did I learn from the experience?
I can do hard things, and the pain passes
I put my needs first and took care of my body, I was clear with my teammate about what I needed. While I did the same for them.
Everyone reacts differently to challenges and when supported people are amazing.
So how can you bring the power of challenge into your life?

Shortcast Polarity and Disagreement
Sunday Jun 18, 2023
Sunday Jun 18, 2023
We live in a world of polarity and disagreement. I wonder if it has always been there, and I just did not notice or has the world become more divided?
In this show, I explore my surprise to meet up with some old friends who now hold some very strong opposing views to my own.
What is your default in this situation, right them off or build a bridge?
This show is about the importance of building bridges and recognising that there is more that unites us than we realise.

The world is a troubled place, everywhere I look I can see polarity. Our print and TV, social media and politics are out to point fingers and create separation.
My bigger point is we do not have time for separation. Meeting my Massive Transformative Purpose (MTP) is about making the world a better place. That will not happen with division and no conversation.
So why are we so polarised and what makes these beliefs so strong that people will go out on a limb and say black is white just to maintain the story?
Polarity and disagreement are about belief in a story. It is fierce because the idea must be defended or it becomes a house of cards problem.

Jeannine Kim : Finance to Mystic
Wednesday Jun 14, 2023
Wednesday Jun 14, 2023
Finance to Mystic, how does the move from a life of facts to a life of intuition happen? Our story in the podcast is of transition from the rough and tumble world of finance to healing wisdom and soul work.
On this show, you will discover the importance of sacred clearing, we all clean our physical bodies, but there is more to life than this physical plain.
A 70s Child, free to explore the world
Jammine Kim was an adopted child with red hair and a firebrand personality. She had a wonderful early life in 1970 Chicago. Life was different; for Jeannine, childhood was an experience outside of the house, it was a freedom to explore. As a sensitive child, the world was full of seen and unseen experiences.
She left home at 17 and threw herself at the world, gravitating towards money and finance. Without a college qualification worked her way up from the bottom to become an IPO trader.
In the 1990s, finance was still running on a wall street mentality where greed is good, and women in the industry were commodities.
She was among the first women in the 90s to pursue and win a sexual harassment lawsuit and challenge this behaviour.
That firebrand personality served her well; she was good at the job, trained others and built teams. But life while rich was empty on the inside.
There was a calling back to that sensitive child running wild in Chicago. She found a path through yoga. That was the start of her journey towards healing and the drive to share it with others.
She signed up for healing training in China, meaning she would need to leave her job to make it possible. She would have to choose to release her income, security and health insurance benefits.
The Journey from finance to mystic
The universe has other plans. Our story is that journey and how the universe always has a hand in the process.
Twenty-three years later, she is now a yoga teacher and author, helping thousands of people to reconnect with their guidance and wisdom.

Sunday Jun 11, 2023
Sunday Jun 11, 2023
Finding your MTP, Massive transformational purpose. What is it, and do you need it? The MPT has become popular with companies driven to create change. It is said to be the driving cause of that change.
This shortcast explores the MTP and how you might create one for you or your business.
So an MTP is a statement of intention, a change you want to see happen; it’s also a statement that inspires.
Life Passion and Business: Leading the World to a better place.
Tedx: Ideas worth spreading.
Tesla: To accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
These sound inspirational, but it is not a question of sitting around with a brand specialist and a copywriter to develop a flashy phrase.
It is a combination of passion, values, emotions and meaning. From the corporate perspective, these would be the founder’s vision, inspiration and passion for solving a particular problem.
The MTP for Life passion and business was born from my journey with the show. Once I had healed myself, I wanted to share that knowledge.
In this show we offer ideas to explore your MTP

Sunday Jun 04, 2023
Sunday Jun 04, 2023
Where is your assumptions and bias? To be fare it is a trick question because we all have them. We all have a natural bias, and it’s almost impossible to get ride of them unless we make a conscious effort to be become aware.
We live in a world of bias Media, Political and Culture all have inherrant bias, the currents trend of AI have been found to have a racial bias
In this show we explore my first world problem and how cognitive bias has made it worse. How 90% of the biggest projects fail in terms of cost and delivery due to leadership bias.
It is a big subject and I will let you in to a little secret, it is all related to beliefs, story and how our brains like to work with the maxinium of efficiency.
