LP&B 58 Jock Gibson Farming In Scotland
Sunday Apr 28, 2019
Sunday Apr 28, 2019
My guest on the programme is Jock Gibson; he is a farmer and butcher from Dallas, Forres in the North East of Scotland. My home town.
The launch of Change Your World Every Day
If you have listened to podcast 57 on fear and change, You will have heard my conversation with Suzy Beaumont. It was an unscheduled conversation that we decide to do as a Facebook live and it became a podcast.
We had been working together on the Change your world conference and the programme, and the conversation was rolling around that event.
The conference was a major success and brought together a room of amazing people all looking to make changes in their life. Including the wife as it happens.
I said at the time that there would be more, well that opportunity is now open to those beyond Scotland. Change Your World online launches in just a few days. Suzy in pulling in some amazing people and the process features daily actions that will take you forward. even if you are like me and struggle with the concept if goals as yet.

Now lets get back to farming. and Jock Gibson
Unusually this conversation is not the result of a social media connection. When I arrived here 15 years ago, I became a consultant and did a stint with the local Enterprise company. Jock Gibson was one of my clients. I moved on from that contract, Jock and I kept in touch and have remained social media friends.
Together with his wife, Fiona, they farm beef cattle native to the Scottish Highlands and sell their produce through the family butchers shop Macbeth’s. They supply hotels and restaurants as well as private individuals up and down the country with an online shop. His business is vertical in that they see the process from start to finish.
Jock has become a man of the land. However originally he studied engineering at Manchester University and after completing a couple of years sailing, started work for a building services consultancy in Peterborough. That was not the path, so after another university degree and another engineering job in Glasgow, it was clear that was not the path. So Jock returned to Dallas to take on the family butchery business.
That is a story in itself..
My interest in getting Jock on the show has been his dedication and passion for his industry. He says that farming is the most exciting industry to be in at the moment as there is so much opportunity.
That opportunity came in 2015, after the death of his parents. He and Fiona took on the family farm and now live there with their three children.
Jock is active in the industry as a board member for Quality Meat Scotland, a director for the Farmer Jones Academy and on the steering committee for the Highlands & Islands Food and Drink Awards.
Our conversation is very different from previous guests. It is a hands-on hard job with some harsh realities. Agriculture like every business is facing enormous change. However, they are facing it at every level, with environmental concerns, regulations and political upheaval.
I also want Jock on the show as many of the previous guests have been virtual business or service providers. There is a story here of his family and his success and the challenges that he faces in a tight market.
While we managed to steer clear of Brexit sort of, it's almost impossible because it is such a significant issue in his life. It will affect pretty much everything that he does.
I hope you enjoy the conversation with Jock Gibson.

LP&B 57 Paul Harvey Fear and Change
Sunday Mar 31, 2019
Sunday Mar 31, 2019
This week’s podcast started as a podcast short. It was going to be an exploration of the mindset around fear.
As you may know, I have been working Laura Powner on the issues of money and mindset. During this work, I have discovered a lot about my history and how my life has been shaped by fear. I was sharing those thoughts with Suzy Beaumont ( Change Your World), and it became apparent that we should record the conversation. So we decided to explore the discussion as a Facebook live. You can find that on the life passion and business page.
Suzy Beaumont and Change Your World
Suzy is an old friend of the show, having been a guest last year and on the 50th programme.

I have been working with her for a few months providing marketing support for the next event. The Change Your World conference is on April 7th.
The conference now in its third year brings together some of the most exceptional speakers in areas of mindset and health and fitness. This year will feature subjects like sleep, plant-based diets and goal setting. Something there for everyone so if you are in the Scotland or Inverness area is well worth getting a ticket.

My inspiration for getting involved in working on this project with Suzy is the synergy between Changes Your World and Life Passion and Business.
This podcast was created for me to explore and understand my own life, and Suzy started Change Your World events because she wanted to share her journey. We are both looking to support people in the pursuit of something better.

On the show, I share my realisations about money but particularly my relationship with fear and money. We explore what it means and how it has affected our lives.
Our conversation lead on to what people will discover at the event on the 7th of April. While that may not be of interested directly, the content is valuable, and shortly, there will be an opportunity to get involved with Cange your world as it goes global.
Early heads up.
Change your world will be starting an online programme within the next few weeks. I will keep you posted.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy our conversation

LP&B 55 Dov Gordon The Alchemist Entrepreneur
Sunday Mar 10, 2019
Sunday Mar 10, 2019
Today's guest is Dov Gordon the Alchemist Entrepreneur, he has a system that helps his clients find simplicity on the other side of complexity.
Dov is a marketing guy, so I am I had to be very careful to get geeked out on the subject as I often do when I meet fellow professionals.
But first I wanted to touch on last week's podcast and short cast all about money. Clearly, that is a massive subject for everybody because I've had lots of downloads of podcast more than any other. It has been very interesting to see the reaction,
If you are looking at the money mastery project, stop this podcast and go to the website life passion and business. The link to the programme is on the podcast with Laura. You have a few hours left to get in on that project, the doors will be closing shortly.
If you want to get your money stories sorted with Laura Powner please take action now. https://mindandmoneyacademy.thinkific.com/courses/money-mastery?ref=ba637f
Back to Dov has been in marketing for over 20 years and struggled until he developed a system that worked for him.
It's great when guests reach to me to be on the podcast. I was intrigued by his system. He could see that there are millions of consultants and coaches who were really good at what they do. Struggles to find consistent leads or business
They were not charismatic Guru type self-promoters
His takes an agnostic approach to help clients build strong strategic foundations they can apply to build a simple client getting system. It is all based around 3 questions and the simplicity of it is actually quite mind-boggling.
So I hope you enjoy the conversation with Dov Gordon.
You can learn more about Dov's work at https://dovgordon.net
Dov has offered book/manual and you can get it here https://dovgordon.net/paulharvey

Extract Jason Hulott Swordsman and Digital Marketer
Friday Jan 18, 2019
Friday Jan 18, 2019
Jason is a wizard with the digital stuff, but there is more, he is a medieval swordsman, martial arts man and I only discovered after we had finished recording that he is a huge Star Trek fan.
Who knew, and I was so disappointed we never got to chat about that on the programme. Possible a good thing as I may have gone full-on sci-fi geek.
“I co-ran one of the largest Star Trek fan clubs in Europe. All with letters and snail mail!”
Jason has been in the digital industry since 1996. That is before Google, before Facebook, before everything that we have come to take for granted.
He and his wife run a successful digital agency called Speedie Consultants, they are involved in client affiliate programs and digital marketing campaigns.

Short Casts With Paul Harvey- The Wellness Spiral
Sunday Jan 13, 2019
Sunday Jan 13, 2019
Welcome To Life Passion and Business Short-Casts. A while back I said I would make these little short podcast to cover some of my routines and this is what I call the Wellness Spiral.
As an entrepreneur, it is my responsibility to maintain my well-being no one else is looking after me. Of course, it's the same for everybody we all have to look after our welfare.
But as an entrepreneur is particularly tough because there is no one else to rely on other than yourself. I find one of the most significant factors on this is the mindset. It is about keeping and holding a positive mental attitude in the face of everything.
I've come to realise for me this takes the form of a spiral. I call it the wellness spiral because at any point in the day I could be going up or I could be heading down.
It is situations of the day where I allow myself to be knocked off course. First world problems, things that I think are problems. It's the stuff, the process around just working.
If I'm not vigilant with my mindset, I can end up spiralling down, and if I'm not particularly attentive, I can miss that is what's happening and before I know it I'm on the way to a depressed state.
When I get low, the world does not look like a happy place and if I start making decisions from that place and that's not the happy situation either.
So I use this thing this concept called the wellness spiral. This podcast is all about how I use it to manage my mindset.
I hope you find it useful and I would love to hear your feedback.
Leave a comment on the website or go to the Facebook page and leave a comment.
Thanks for listening.

LP&B 32 Paul Harvey A Spud with Legs to Running 10K
Wednesday Jul 25, 2018
Wednesday Jul 25, 2018
In this short programme, we explore more of my journeys and how running like a spud with legs changed into running 10K. It has opened my mind to the possibility of change. I also cover what is coming on the podcast in the next few months.
I'm back I'm back at my desk with my fantastic microphone, it is to travel and nice to be home.
Of course, travel broadens the mind and I've been travelling to Essex and all places south for most this year. That has lead to my challenges with the podcast.
Technology continues to frustrate I had a guest lined up today, and we were having a conversation but our systems were not compatible. The sound quality was full of crackles and noise and not good enough for broadcast.
So we have rescheduled.
But that gives me the opportunity to speak to you guys and take the opportunity to tell you more about what is coming in the podcast in the next few months.
I started this podcast as a reaction to the death of my father. He kind of withdrawing from life his circle of activity got smaller and smaller. I noticed that I had started had started to do the same. I was looking at the world from a perspective of what it is it all for.
It is this programme and the amazing guests that appeared to answer the big life questions about life, passion about the meaning
I discovered from all those different conversations was that
life actually has no meaning other than which you give it
How does that feel for you?

Episode 07: Daisy Luther Organic Prepping and Writing 100,000 Words a Week
Tuesday Feb 27, 2018
Tuesday Feb 27, 2018
Who is Dasiy Luther,
She is a prepper some might say a survivalist, today she runs a number of websites that provide information and tips on how to live through natural or man-made disasters.
The reason I reached out to her for an interview was that I saw her story, and realised she is a ferocious writer.
100,000 words a week according to Grammarly
Six years ago, Daisy was in the corporate world and hating every minute of it. The job once enjoyed had turned into a stressful grind and it was taking her away from the things she was really passionate about.
A dramatic change came with the death of her father died. It was the last conversation with her dad that became the catalyst to move her forward and towards a career in writing
The universe continued throwing things at her before she committed to change. She experienced personal economic collapse with the loss of her home and car. Another family blow was the death of her X Husband and father of her children.
It was the prepping skills and a well-stocked larder that kept the family fed, and she took the leap and became a freelance writer.
She has not looked back, her writing career has allowed her to be the Mum she wants to be. Only last year she ran her business from the road during 3 month trip around the USA with her youngest homeschooled daughter
On this journey, she has developed some amazing marketing skills. As for the future she is prepping her business for sale and looking to retire to Hawaii.
I hope you enjoy the conversation with Daisy Luther
