How Epiphany and Traditions lead to change.
Sunday Jan 05, 2025
Sunday Jan 05, 2025
Happy New Year! 🎉 I hope this brand-new year brings you everything your heart desires. As we kick off 2025, let’s dig into something truly special: the idea of making this year exceptional by embracing new traditions and deep insights. What if I told you that the key to a better year could come from a delicious cake?
Ok, you are not going to have an epiphany by eating cake, but it was the cake that inspired the conversations and the intention that made the difference.
Let me take you on a journey that starts with a French King cake I discovered years ago during my travels in France.
La galette des Rois
It is a sweet pastry filled with almond goodness, with a hidden surprise inside—a bean or a coin. Whoever finds it gets crowned "king" of the party! This delightful custom blossomed into an annual tradition in my home, resulting in an Epiphany celebration that blends festive joy with meaningful reflections.
This podcast episode explores how a simple king's cake has become the centerpiece of introspection and personal growth. At our Epiphany parties, we gather friends and family to reflect on crucial questions: What wisdom did you stumble upon in 2024? What inspiration fueled your journey? These gatherings are not just about celebration; they're about finding where your wisdom lies and planning your path forward.
Epiphany and Traditions
In a world where past experiences shape us, we get to decide which lessons we take with us. Reflect, write in a journal, and illuminate your path with the wisdom and inspiration of the past year. This practice is a gift to yourself, a tool for personal growth.
I’m inviting you to join me in this reflective experience. Light a candle from the central light of shared wisdom—a metaphorical gesture—and let's shine brighter together in 2025. And remember, I’m always here to hear your thoughts. Visit lifepassionandbusiness.com to explore resources or reach out to me directly. Cheers to an enlightening new year, my friend! 🌟

Resolutions, or true intentions?
Sunday Dec 29, 2024
Sunday Dec 29, 2024
It is the last Sunday of 2024, and we're nestled in the cosy time known as Betwixtmas - that calm lull between Christmas and New Year's Eve. But instead of the usual resolution-filled chatter, let's flip the script and focus on what you truly want in life.
This is the perfect time to pause and reflect on what really makes your heart sing. Gone are the days of blindly chasing goals set during a New Year's champagne toast. Instead, consider what actually brings you joy. Was it simple moments with family or perhaps triumph at work? Let's shed the facade and focus on what matters.
For 2025, it's about setting intentions, not rigid resolutions. Craft a list of what you want and why it matters to you. Use this newfound clarity to steer your year toward fulfilment and enrichment. It's about balance—balancing health, relationships, and work.
Join me in ushering a calm, inspiring new year.
Let's support each other in this journey. If today’s conversation resonated with you, pass it on to a friend who needs to hear it, too. I wish you a healthy, wealthy, inspiring 2025!

Results For My Million Dollar Year Experiment.
Wednesday Dec 18, 2024
Wednesday Dec 18, 2024
This time last year, I started the Million Dollar Experiment, a program developed by Joanna Hunter with a view to creating a million dollars in one year.
So did it happen?
I am exploring the journey on the show with Jane Duncan Rogers, an old podcast friend. As we did this year together, it seems natural to explore our discoveries together.
This was a transformative year for Jane, not just for her participation in the intriguing Million Dollar Experiment but there were some profound shifts in perspective it prompted.
In this candid conversation, Paul and Jane discuss the real measures of abundance and freedom that transcended beyond just monetary gains. It's not just about chasing the million dollars but exploring one's relationship with money, understanding personal freedom, and appreciating the richness in experiences and relationships.
Jane shares how this experiment challenged her beliefs about money and sparked a deeper spiritual journey. Her insights into gratitude and the power of mindset are both inspiring and applicable to anyone seeking personal growth.
We also touch on Jane’s new venture into writing, focusing on embracing aging and the narratives that come with it. If you're interested in a heartfelt exploration of life's richness beyond financial wealth, this episode is a must-listen.
If you would like to stay in touch with Jane, you can find her on Linkedin, facebook or check out her substack page.
If you want to explore the work of Joanna Hunter, she can be found at Joannahunter.com.

Reflect, Relate, Recharge: Crafting Your Yearly Narrative
Sunday Dec 08, 2024
Sunday Dec 08, 2024
Every December, I craft a family newsletter that lets us peek back at the journey we've been on throughout the year. It's more than just a factual account. It’s our story, filled with the highs, lows, and everything in between.
Thinking back, the winter solstice plays a significant role in this reflective process for me. It symbolizes the return of the light, making December the perfect time for looking back and planning our next adventures. Can you imagine tracing the lines of your own narrative, seeing the threads that connect your past with your future?
So, how about you give it a try? Even if newsletters make you yawn, taking a moment to ponder your year can be a transformative experience. What stood out for you? What were your big takeaways? And if you felt underwhelmed, what might you change moving forward?
Anyway, if you ever want to chat about this or need a little nudge, you know where to find me. And don't forget to swing by lifepassionandbusiness.com; there are tons of resources there to help with your journey. Until next time, take care and keep exploring!

: Gentle Marketing Revolution with Sarah Santacroce
Wednesday Dec 04, 2024
Wednesday Dec 04, 2024
I was listening to the Cleaning Up podcast this week, and the guest was Rory Sutherland, the Vice Chair at Ogilvy UK. I will put a link to the podcast below. The conversation was about everything I dislike about the marketing industry. It is an industry where money is more important than morals or outcomes and consequences.
It reminded me of a refreshing marketing conversation I had with Sarah Santacroce some three years back. In my opinion, all marketing must be based on integrity and the desire for what is right, not just what makes money. Sarah has been on a simular journey and devised her solution. Gentle Marketing.

If you are interested in discovering how Sarah can help you, a good place to start is with her free download of “The One Page Marketing Plan”. Click on the link below to access this along with her other links and social media connections.

Your Credibility with Mitchell Levy.
Wednesday Nov 27, 2024
Wednesday Nov 27, 2024
A reprise from this time last year on the issues of credibility. It has been a funny few weeks. What with elections and media stuff? I mean funny and peculiar, not Ha Ha! It made me reflect on the issues of credibility in politics and media. What has changed? What is the credibility formula? It had me thinking about this recording with Mitchell Levy and his research.
So let's step back and year rediscover the secrets of credibility.
Is your credibility important? You certainly need to feel you are, but more importantly, Are you Credible? Because your potential clients need to believe it first. But how do we get there?
Our guest on the show this week is Mitchell Levy from Credibility Nation. As you will hear, we both discovered and learned much from this conversation.
Mitchell Levy has had a long and classically successful business career, from banking to internet systems. He has several publishing companies that support business leaders in writing books and has written over 60 of his own. He has spoken at TEDx events and is an executive coach at Marshall Goldsmith’s 100 Coaches—an accomplished man.
In 2019, he sought a change and followed Napoleon Hill’s steps. He set out to interview 500 executives on success and credibility. The findings from that research have changed his life.
He has discovered that how we do business has changed forever and will never go back. Credibility is key.
So join me in this conversation to explore Mittchel’s journey and discover some critical tools for your credibility.

Embrace Your Evolution: Reflecting on Life's Journey
Sunday Oct 13, 2024
Sunday Oct 13, 2024
Hey there, my friend! 🌟 Welcome to a space where we dive deep into the stories that shape our lives. I'm Paul Harvey, your go-to midlife coach, and today, we're on a journey of reflection—looking back at how far we've come and the evolution we've experienced.
This shortcast is like a warm cup of tea on a rainy day—comforting and thought-provoking. We're chatting about the stories we tell ourselves and how they shape our reality. You see, it's not just about where we are but where we've been and how those experiences have molded us into who we are today.
Let me share a bit about my own story. This podcast adventure began back in 2018, sparked by the realization of how crucial it is to live a life full of passion and purpose. Life threw some curveballs my way—losing my dad, my son's big leap to university, and my wife's Parkinson's diagnosis. Yet, these experiences have been a catalyst for change, teaching me invaluable lessons about resilience and growth.
Now, let's flip the script to you. What's your story? How have you shifted over the years? Have your values taken a turn, and are certain things more important now? It's fascinating to reflect on how we've adapted and evolved. Maybe you faced a challenging situation in the past and handled it differently than you would now. That's evolution, my friend!
Life is a never-ending journey, and each moment is an opportunity for growth. Even when things get tough, remember that you're capable of more than you might think. Look back at your past successes and let them remind you of your strength and resilience. Sometimes, it's not just about thinking differently but taking action to change your situation.
And hey, don't forget about gratitude. When life feels overwhelming, focusing on what you have can bring a sense of peace and perspective. So, take a moment to appreciate the journey, the lessons learned, and the person you've become.
As I ponder my own expansion and where to take this podcast next, I invite you to be part of the conversation. Your thoughts and feedback are invaluable to me, so please reach out and share your ideas. Let's keep this journey going, exploring new paths and stories together.
Thanks for being here, for sharing this journey with me. If you enjoyed this episode, don't hesitate to spread the word. Share it with a friend who might need a little reflection and inspiration in their life. And if you're up for it, leave a review or give us some stars—they help us reach more amazing people like you.
Until next time, keep evolving and embracing the beautiful journey of life. Catch you later! 🌈

Free Up Your Energy: Letting Go of the Baggage
Sunday Oct 06, 2024
Sunday Oct 06, 2024
In this bite-sized episode, I'm diving into the world of sentiment and baggage. You know, all those things we collect over the years that start to weigh us down. Trust me, I get it – my wardrobe's got clothes I haven't worn in ages, and my garage? Let's not even go there!
This conversation is all about understanding why we hold onto stuff and, more importantly, how to let it go. It's not just about clearing physical space; it's about freeing up energy and creating room for new possibilities. Remember that Marie Kondo's question, "Does it bring me joy?" It's time to really think about that.
I've been helping a friend downsize recently, and wow, the things we accumulate over decades! It's been a real eye-opener, and it's made me reflect on my own habits. So, I'm sharing some tips and tricks on how to tackle your own clutter, one step at a time. Whether it's your wardrobe or that drawer full of who-knows-what, there's a sense of freedom in letting go.
And hey, it's not just about the physical stuff. Next week, we're delving into the internal baggage we all carry. Because let's face it, we've got some head trash to clear out too!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this journey of decluttering. How are you doing with your stuff? Could you see yourself releasing some of it? If this episode resonates with you, share it with a friend who might need a little nudge too. Let's make space for new adventures together!

Are You Looking in the Right Place?
Sunday Sep 29, 2024
Sunday Sep 29, 2024
Have you ever wondered if you're looking in the right place? This episode is all about change—about shifting your perspective and focus. As we transition from summer to autumn, I've noticed the temperature in my house dropping. At 18 degrees, it feels chilly now, but in the winter, 18 degrees feels just fine. It's all about what we're used to, right?
This shift in focus is something I see often in coaching conversations. People frequently think they want something, but it's not what they actually need. Take money, for example. Sometimes, I look at my bank balance and feel secure, and other times, the same number makes me feel uneasy. It's all about perspective and how we view our resources.
One of my clients recently sought support from a friend for a particular problem. It became clear that the friend couldn't provide the needed support, but within an hour, the client had a new idea that could solve the problem. By looking in a different place, they found a new opportunity and took action. It was a fantastic result, and the universe seemed to align everything perfectly.
My wife had a similar experience during a meditation session. She noticed the keys on her keyboard—shift, enter, backspace—and realized that shifting our perspective allows us to re-enter situations with new capacities. Fresh thinking and new ideas often come from looking at things differently.
Einstein once said you can't solve a problem with the same thinking that got you there. So, if you have a recurring problem or something you'd like to change, try looking at it from a new perspective. Sometimes, this means making difficult decisions, but freedom often comes after those tough choices.
Remember, life is an adventure, and you are the principal character. Seeing yourself as the hero of your story can fundamentally change how you treat yourself and your life. So, where are you looking? Are you looking in the right place to solve your current problems?

What do you see first the light or the dark?
Sunday Sep 22, 2024
Sunday Sep 22, 2024
For the Sunday reflection, a question was asked of me this morning.
Are you focusing on the light or the dark? It's a good one, right? What do you notice first in the world around you? The bad bits or the good bits?
Our world is complex, full of conflict, but also overflowing with beauty and wonder. The magic lies in where we choose to place our attention. When we focus on appreciating the good, we feel better about ourselves and the world we live in. And when we feel good, we can do good, be good, and change the not-so-good around us.
This episode is about mastering our thoughts instead of being slaves to them. Yes, we can see the negativity and the ugliness, but we can also open our eyes and hearts to the beauty. It's not just about seeing; it's about being and doing. When we act from a place of generosity and openness, we feel good about ourselves and positively impact the world around us.
Finding joy in everything we do, even in mundane tasks like cleaning a toilet, can bring satisfaction. Knowing that someone else will appreciate what you've done can bring a sense of joy. Giving our best to the world attracts the best in return. So, how can you start this journey? It's a bit like practising gratitude. When you catch yourself finding fault, consciously look for beauty. Ask yourself, "Where is the beauty in this?"
Today marks the autumn equinox in the UK, a time of equal day and night. While the nights will start drawing in, there's a unique beauty in the autumn colors and the freshness in the air. There's beauty in change, even when it means saying goodbye to summer. For our friends in the southern hemisphere, it's the first day of spring, a time to look forward to summer.
We have a choice in how we view the world. The media often highlights the dark side because it grabs our attention, playing on our innate need for security. But we need to guard against this and choose to see the light. There's always something to be joyful about, even in the greatest challenges. It could be as simple as a good cup of coffee or a stranger's smile.
By expressing the best of ourselves and acknowledging the best in the world, we become role models for others. We help them see the beauty they might have missed. So, give it a try. There's no magic tool, just a conscious choice to look for the good. If you find it difficult, keep looking—it's there. Nature is a great place to find beauty and wonder; it carries on regardless of our actions.
