Shortcast : Intuition & Inspiration
Sunday Jan 07, 2024
Sunday Jan 07, 2024
Intuition and inspiration: where does that sit in your New Year’s resolutions, goals, or intentions that you set for 2024? There is so much pressure to set intentions or goals at the beginning of the year.
I suspect many people feel pressured into coming up with something, and it’s invariably dumped by the middle of January. Why is it so difficult to set a meaningful, achievable goal at this time of year?
In this podcast, we look at the idea that the best goals come from intuition. They come out of inspiration, and when those things are in alignment, it’s only a matter of doing.
Tomorrow is the 8th of Jan, and for many, it is the first full week back at work, last week was about going through the motions. Well, it was when I was in corporate. Actually, it was about preparing for a trip to Paris to look at Christmas Decorations. Yes, 20 years back, I finished Christmas only to go back to work and start looking at Christmas.
Thankfully, I have left Christmas decoration planning behind, but I still retain one discovery from that time. Kings Cake.
Kings Cake, Intuition and Inspiration.
In the Harvey House, Christmas ends on the 5th of January at King’s Night, where we have a King’s dinner to celebrate the end of the 12 days of Christmas and to explore intuition and wisdom for the coming year and eat Kings Cake.
Check out the show and hear the story of how I discovered King’s Cake. But more the point, today’s conversation is all about how we bring our intuition and inspiration into our lives to align with our goals and intentions. That is the path towards living a good life.

The experiment is a one-year program or container held by Joanna Hunter where we look at how it is possible to generate one million dollars in one year. Do check the previous two podcasts, where I explore the project. This week’s topic of conversation was about deserving. Do you feel you deserve it? That’s fascinating, isn’t it?
Because unless we feel that we can have a million, we never will. To find out more about this program and how it could benefit you check out the link The Million Dollar Experiement.

Money Bags
Wednesday Jan 03, 2024
Wednesday Jan 03, 2024
Where do you keep your money bags? Well, what I really mean is, have you explored your money baggage? It has been said there was no shortage of money in the world for all that needed to be done. So why is it not done?
On this show, we are looking at money and the thinking around it. Did you know that money is not real? It is a thought that has become a universal agreement.
The majority of money is ones and zeros on a computer. We have all signed up for this thought experiment and created an economy around it. Money is a convenient tool to transfer energy and intention.
But with that thought experience comes a whole list of baggage. Money baggage: there is no shortage of money; there is, however, a gap in our realities around it., and that is what needs sorting.
On Tuesday, I caught the launch party for My Million Dollar Experiment with Joanna Hunter. She is a metaphysical practitioner and a very successful businesswoman.
Her current business is in the creation of conscious millionaires. As she says, what if there was no shortage of money in the world for all that needed to be done? We could solve climate change and educate and feed people.
How would it be possible to create conscious millionaires? That is where metaphysics comes in because it is about changing the mindset and moving the money baggage.
The launch party was for the Million Dollar Experiment, and the question is.
“Would it be possible for you to make $1,000,000 in the next 12 months? “
Before you disregard that statement, what thought came up for you? I imagine there was a whole list of ifs, buts and nos. It does for me.
My Million Dollar Experiment 2021 results
However, it has been done before. In 2021, Joanna ran that experiment with just over 4000 people, and 16 people declared they made the million. Another 3 kept it quiet. As a percentage, it is less than 0.5%. So, let us consider the numbers.
That 0.5% percentage is better than a lottery win.
How many people came close?
What changed in the lives of those involved?
I am delighted to participate in this experiment because, at the launch party, I could feel my triggers coming up; even creating this podcast and making the offer available to you has shown me that I have some work to do.
Is it Time to Find Your Money Bags?
There is still time; while the experiment has started, the option to join is still open, and it is only $25. Check out the show if you want to know why the price is so low.
click the link and join us on what will be a year of discovery.
Yes, this is an affiliate link, and I will earn $12.50, as a participant, you can also do the same.

Ellice Whyte : Embracing Neurodiversity
Wednesday Dec 20, 2023
Wednesday Dec 20, 2023
Embracing neurodiversity, we are all different, and there is no normal; every human is a mix of thoughts and feelings. But some in society struggle to fit in or keep up with what is expected of being normal. Thankfully, we are aware of terms like ADHD and other conditions, and yet we still live in a world where there is stigma associated with people who are different.
In our conversation today, we are looking at neurodivergence and how it is recognised and needs to be embraced.
My guest on the show is Ellice Whyte, a Consultant Business Psychologist who is neurodiverse with ADHD.
Elice started life with a passion for music, singing, and performing. She can pick up any musical instrument and has become proficient at many. Music was her happy place, allowing her to express feelings and move freely.
However, other aspects of education were not easy, and she struggled in some areas. At some point in her late teens, she developed an eating disorder. Upon finishing school, University was the plan, but she took a gap year to get some life experience in the world of work.
Returning to education, she played to her strengths and went for a music degree. However, in her second year at University, she took a module in music therapy, which changed her perspective and gave her a new direction. She moved toward psychology and helping people.
The Master lecture that changes everything
In her mid-20s, she was studying for her master’s, and it was while sitting in a lecture that she effectively diagnosed her neurodiverse condition.
“ I literally realised, “hmm I do a lot of these!””
This revelation deepened her interest in neurodiversity and fueled a passion for helping others understand their unique brain functionalities.
Funny enough, she is qualified today to identify and give people a neurodiverse diagnosis. But she is still waiting for the medical profession to confirm her own officially.
Our conversation is a discussion of what it means to be neurodivergent and how bullying in the workplace can go so wrong. We look at how you can identify your own condition and get access to testing, it is essential to know that support is out there.
Today, Ellice provides services as a business psychologist; her work revolves around applying psychological principles to enhance organisations’ health, productivity, and culture.

Jordan Tait : Freedom Seeker
Wednesday Dec 13, 2023
Wednesday Dec 13, 2023
Could you be a freedom seeker? But what is freedom, and how do you find what you truly want? Our guest on the show is a man who set out in life to find out what it was he wanted before committing to a path.
Jordan Tait was born in Canada. His father was a carpenter, and the perfect role model to show that building or fixing anything is possible.
On leaving the university after studying geography, Jordon followed the practical side of life and started a painting business with a difference. It was just about making and saving every dollar for six months until he hit a target. The business would go on hold while he travelled.
The Freedom Seeker
Over five years, he visited over 40 countries, living the backpacking lifestyle. He learned so much on his travels and was different every time he returned home.
By his mid-20s, the idea of being a painter for life did not fit with his dreams or who he had become. However, a coaching opportunity appeared where he could coach people to start their own painting business, and that was much more interesting.
It opened the door to scratch the travel itch as he travelled all over the US and Canada. It is interesting how travelling for yourself feeds the soul, but lots of travelling for work every week eventually leads to burning out.
Now, with a life partner, they both decided to quit their jobs and travel to Australia. The timing was just before COVID… and Australia’s tough initial reaction; the closing of the country worked in their favour and led to them discovering how they wanted to live when they returned to Canada.
Ever the freedom seeker, on returning to Canada he bought a 21ft school bus and converted it into a camper and continued his exploration of the wild places in his home country.
It is a lovely story and shows how purposeful intention is the path to build the life you want. Jordan is all about personal development and continuing his exploration of life and it opportunities.its
Today, Jordan runs his own consulting business; he calls himself a business and lifestyle coach who helps underpaid and overworked owners grow their income while working fewer hours.

Olly Hermon-Taylor : Building A Life To Love
Wednesday Dec 06, 2023
Wednesday Dec 06, 2023
I am travelling this week, so I thought to share a show from last year with Olly Herman-Taylor.
The show is about brand building, entrepreneurship, holistic marketing, health and fitness and living a life that feeds us. It is a deep conversation about the world in which we live, how to find your story and the path towards your best life.
Images, shapes, and forms have always inspired Olly Herman-Taylor. While at school, he discovered a passion for design and spent his days doodling, creating logos, and drawing.
At college, he got a degree in English; on leaving, he went into the building industry, working on-site in the family business. Carrying bricks up and down ladders made him strong and fit, giving him an appreciation for movement and using his body.
But the inspiration to design was calling; it was music or clothes; feeling he might be tone deaf he chose clothes.
Olly started a t-shirt design business producing and selling shirts on the London street markets. But T-shirts would never make him rich, so he looked to his other passion, snowboarding.
Coming up with a unique design for a snowboarding jacket, he located a company that agreed to produce them if he could sell 500 jackets. He returned with an order for 5000, and his business was born.
He was just 23 and starting a business with no plan, which worked.
For seven years, he did some fantastic stuff, creating a lifestyle business and taking it to over a million pounds, but that journey involved compromise, and it stopped feeding his soul. Now, with a young family, he sold the brand and took time to be with his kids and consider his next steps.
He transitioned to Health and Fitness and set about creating a natural fitness brand, and this time, life did not roll so easy seven years later. He was depressed, in debt and unhappy.
Our conversation is about his journey out of the hole he had created. He discovered the darker sides of marketing in the fitness industry. As mentioned, it is a deep conversation about this world and what the system will do to us when we allow it.
Today, Olly Herman-Taylor calls himself a Bio Hacker and high-performance coach. He helps entrepreneurs upgrade their mindset, transform their health, uncover their purpose and create a life they love. He also hosts the Torchbearer™ podcast and is co-founder of Rare Partners, a story-based communication agency.

Joshua Lisec : The Ghostwriter
Wednesday Nov 29, 2023
Wednesday Nov 29, 2023
Ghostwriting is the skill of making the words of others sound good and interesting enough to keep people reading. Our Guest on the show is a professional ghostwriter with over 80 books to his credit. Plus, a few of his own.
Joshua Lisec has become so well-known for his skill at bringing these books together that his name often appears on the cover.
Born in the USA, Joshua’s early life was unusual as he was home-schooled. It is more common now, but 30 years ago, it was rare. His education was unstructured and self-guided. Part of it was reading every page of the 1976 bicentennial edition of the Encyclopedia Americana.
His unschooling gave him a general knowledge base on just about everything. It did not stop him from continuing into university, where he got hooked on academic life and collected 3 degrees, one of them in business.
However, by his own admission, he left the university with no usable skills. He got a job in the telecommunication industry, working on standard operating systems and procedures.
The process taught him how to analyse systems and became the foundation of his work with entrepreneurs as the ghostwriter of their books.
While working on the SOP project, he had the sense that it would not be a career, but that was confirmed by his supervisor, who said, “Your skillset is bigger than this job; you should be a professional writer.
Professional Writing
Taking her at her word, that is what he did, writing several fiction novels. That was 11 years ago, and he has been a professional writer ever since.
Our conversation is about his journey into becoming a ghostwriter and how his work has shifted out of the shadows, where clients ask him to collaborate with them and have his name on the cover.
We touch on how AI will impact writing and the industry’s future. Apparently, it is easy to detect, and there are some positive benefits.

Simon Jordan : Action and flow
Thursday Nov 09, 2023
Thursday Nov 09, 2023
I am taking a break from editing this week, but I will return with a new programme next week. In the meantime, I want to share with you a conversation recorded a couple of years ago at the event, reasons, and results. That event is still available, and there are some free tickets available—details at the end.
This conversation is about being in flow and taking aligned action. Simon Jordan was an old friend who passed away just 18 months after this show was recorded.
Being in flow with life is about taking aligned action; in my weekend show, we explored the idea of being in that flow and open to the opportunities that pass; it is about breathing into the space.
When I think of a guest demonstrating the process well, it had to be the late Simon Jordan; he died suddenly in December 2021. I made a tribute programme for him at the time.
Simon was a long-term online friend. I had known each other for ten years, yet as in common in the digital world, we never managed to meet in person.
Taking Aligned Action
Going back to my point about flow and aligned action. There is a view and narrative that you will crawl through the swamp to get to your goal if you want something enough. You will put your shoulder to the wheel of life and push until you get what you want.
I do not deny the idea’s validity, and sometimes, getting results requires this level of commitment and sacrifice.
However, at what personal cost do we ask ourselves if we want to pay that price? There was a time when I did the 7 am to 7 pm life. Did it get me anything? I thought it did, but it meant I ate late, watched too much TV and went to bed to do it all again the following morning.
In this show with Simon, we explore his journey from the ego-driven on-stage marketing professional whose life was falling apart to the free-flowing mountain climber, swimmer, adventurer and branding coach. At the time of recording, his life philosophy was about taking aligned action, simplicity and moving with the flow.
The conversation was taken from the event Reason and Results, in 2020. The detail of this and all of our past events can be found in the events tab above.

Erin McCullough : Finding Your Joy
Wednesday Nov 01, 2023
Wednesday Nov 01, 2023
Taking an editing break while focusing on a new project this week, so as we all like to find a little joy in life, I thought to share this show from 2021, all about finding it for yourself.
Finding Your Joy explores thoughts, feelings and anxiety with today's guest, Erin McCullough. She reveals how finding joy is possible at any time and that we do not have to do anything to matter. We are always relevant, and our existence is enough.
Erin had no idea what to expect when she agreed to couples therapy. During the first session, she had an unexpected reaction, which the counsellor explained was a panic attack. She had never experienced a panic attack before, nor had she any awareness of her suppressed emotions.
“It was a defence mechanism not to feel the emotions of when I was a kid.”
Our conversation explores the life transitions that occurred for her through a near-fatal accident, divorce and meeting the man of her dreams on the first 'swipe-right'. It's also a story about the baggage we carry always, wherever we go.
Towards the end of the podcast, there is an exercise to explore and discover your own joy.

Dr Michael Gerharz : Communicate with Clarity
Wednesday Oct 25, 2023
Wednesday Oct 25, 2023
How do we communicate with clarity? It is about using the right words at the right time to the right people. As a communicator, I am very aware of the power of my words. There have been times when I have used the wrong words and got into trouble.
Our interview is about the power of communication, and our guest on the show today is a master. It has become his mission to help leaders across the globe find the right words and make a bigger impact.
Dr Michael Gerharz was born in Near Koln in Germany. His first passion was music. The guitar became his instrument of choice, and as he progressed through education, he enjoyed jazz and studied classical music.
There came a decision point: music or follow his second love, computer science. It was the 90s, a time of unlimited opportunity in this new, exciting field.
After his degree, he became a researcher and programmer and got his Ph.D. in Communications Systems. He had arrived in the computer industry just as the internet became a thing and was there at the birth of mobile phones and networks.
The inability to communicate with clarity
Throughout his work in research, he became aware of how many brilliant ideas or projects failed because of the inability to communicate and use words well. That realisation has led to a whole new career as an author and a communications coach.
Our conversation is about his journey through music and computers. It is about the common thread that unites them.
Michael started his exploration of communication with a daily blog, now with over 800 posts. He is the author of the book “ Leaders Light the Path” and hosts the “Irresistible Communication“ podcast.

Steve Cook : Squeezing The Sponge
Wednesday Oct 04, 2023
Wednesday Oct 04, 2023
Taking an editing break this week, here is a great conversation from July 22
Our conversation is slightly different this week as this story has no fall, crash or upheaval. However, it is about good communication and the search for meaning and purpose.
My guest is unusual in that he is younger than most. What makes him interesting is he is the third generation of a thriving family business. The transition between father and son was without drama.
Steve Cook was born in Oklahoma and has never left.
As a child, Steve mirrored his dad and wanted to be like him. As he went to college, his Dad became a restauranter, and steve followed that interest in his studies.
By the time Steve was leaving college, the family had sold the restaurant and bought into the family horse feed business.
On stepping out into the world of work, Steve considered various careers before entering the family business. There is a lot of potential baggage when it comes to working with family.
Our conversation is about his journey into the business, finding his feet up to the point where he took it over. The company is one of the largest feed suppliers in the USA, which is due to the successful working relationship between Steve and his father.
We take about his challenges and, of course, the usual five questions.
Steve did not say he was passionate about horse feed, but he is passionate about business and what it takes to run it well.
That is how we met as steve is the host of the Better Business Podcast and squeezing the sponge is his view on getting the most out of life.

Noomi Naton : Inner Power Revisited.
Wednesday Sep 20, 2023
Wednesday Sep 20, 2023
As I am travelling this week there is no time for editing, so thought to take us back to a popular show with Noomi Naton. Back on Sunday with a shortcast.
Our conversation is about discovering inner power but as with all stories, the journey is never a straight line.
On the show, you will discover the power of changing chairs and a helpful question “ How can I be more of me and have a greater impact.”
Noomi Natan was born in Copenhagen, at nineteen, most of her friends were travelling. In Denmark, it is common to take a generous gap year before completing a university education. She was working at a temporary job in advertising and wondered if she could live and work in London.
She could and found a job in a sound studio, before hopping across the pond for a 3-month internship in the US Congress. All of that experience led her back to Copenhagen to complete a degree in journalism, although she had no intention of being a journalist.
Education over she returned to London and secures a great job in commercial conference production for the mobile games industry, which was booming.
She was crazy successful for a while, with money and lifestyle. That was until the pressure, overwork, and perfectionism eroded her ability to function. She was miserable much of the time and cried in the toilet.
The crunch came when she was asked to run a project she did not want. She had to work US hours from a London office and struggled without support.
At this point, a coach friend said to her, “ you know you could speak to a doctor and get signed off from work?”
That was the beginning of moving out of the mobile industry.
Our conversation explores coaching and how that fits with the path towards a good life. We look at success and why it can be a difficult journey, contribution and, of course, the big question, what is it all for?
Finding her Inner Power
Noomi describes herself as a recovered perfectionist and a practical idealist who dreams of a world, which is safe for everyone. What a lovely idea. As you will hear on the show, she took her first coaching call 15 years ago and was instantly hooked.
Since then, she has developed her process and specialises in deeply transformational work and helping clients in a wide range of industries, from the owners of micro-businesses to CEOs of prominent household names.

It was one of Steves’s dreams to be a teacher of people; it was right up there along with Radio DJ, stand-up comedian, and an author. It has been a journey, but he has achieved them all.
Our conversion is a recovery journey, not from the usual addiction or problems but from self-depreciation. There is power in what we think, believe or say about ourselves. It is the difference between enjoying or enduring this life journey.
My guest this week is Steve Gamlin, who had a wonderful childhood in the northeast of the US, with great parents, family and friends and incredible memories. It was then that he had those life-shaping dreams: the Radio DJ, Stand-up comedian, an author and a teacher.
“I’ve managed to enjoy them all, now I have crashed and burned between them, but the seeds and the ashes one always led to the next.”
He went to college doing four years in business studies, scraping his graduation. It did not work for him; he left with his confidence crushed and no self-esteem, broke and sleeping on his grandfather’s sofa.
The impulse to take action.
A caring friend asked about his radio dreams, which gave him the impulse to act. He borrowed $4000 from his grandfather and did an 8-week broadcasting course, leading to an internship that started a ten-year radio career.
As you will hear, radio is not all it is cracked up to be, but it is not a healthy environment when you are in the public domain and struggling with self-image.
Steve has achieved all of his dreams from his 11-year-old self, although, in his words, he had to burn his life to ashes every time.
Becoming a teacher of people
What you will hear in this conversion is a man with a lovely radio voice who has turned his life around by carefully managing his thinking. Steve optimises his daily routines to create the life he wants to live.
He hosts the motivational Firewood podcast and works with people to create a back-to-basics positivity through visualisation & humour. Steve is the teacher of people he always wanted to be. Helping people build the necessary mindset to identify their goals, feel sound and smell like.

Shortcast : Learning to Savour
Sunday Sep 03, 2023
Sunday Sep 03, 2023
Learning to savour is about looking for those parts of the day worth remembering and paying attention with heightened awareness.
In our last shortcast, we looked at gratitude, the simple act of being thankful for what has passed during the day. In this show, we explore the practice of savouring—a process of heightened awareness where we slow down and give all of our attention to the moment.
The point of savouring is to appreciate moments of magic and wonder that happen during the day. It is about creating opportunities that give us reason to be grateful later.
We are biologically programmed to look for the problems, crises, or threats to our existence. To the point where we will pass by the beauty and wonder of the ordinary.
In this show we explore my experience with savouring and how you could use it to enrich your daily experience.
Life Passion & Business Podcast is about finding answers to life’s big questions through weekly interviews with guest speakers. In part two of my chat with Jeremy Lasman, we discuss the duality of passion and how it can be both bliss and suffering. We can push ourselves to an extreme because of our passion for it.
I have pushed my body because of my commitment to running. During that marathon situation, toward the end, everything was hurting, and my body was screaming that I should stop. But my inner drive, my passion, kept me going.
Jeremy was employee 110 at SpaceX. He was there at the beginning and part of the team that made it happen. Check out part one to hear the whole story
This conversation is a deep dive into Jeremy’s thoughts on how our passion is the source of innovation and creativity.
